![]() ![]() I can enlarge them using the tips above, but I'm guessing when I actually sit down at my office PC I'll have to reduce the size again since they'll be too big? I use RDCM 2.7 and I've altered the settings so everything isn't tiny except the arrow and I-beam cursors are tiny. I'm connecting to my office PC running Windows 7 so that might be part of the problem. ![]() Similar problem here started after a Windows 10 update a couple of months ago. I then chose a scheme from a drop down list "Windows Standard (large) (system scheme)"Īll my cursors got much bigger - possibly a little too big - but at least I can now see and use the text cursor. Logon to the remote desktop using Remote Desktop Connection Manager, right click on the desktop, select Personalize and then Mouse Pointers and then Pointers tab. I think my remote system must be running an earlier version of windows to some of the solutions posted here. In particular the text cursor was so small I couldn't see it. I had a similar problem following a recent automatic windows update. Then select a better (more fuller) shape cursor. Scroll down through the various cursor images, find "Text Select", then click "Browse." Right click the remote desktop, select "Personalize", click "Change Mouse Pointers" My problem was the text cursor as you mentioned. I had a similar problem and was glad to find I was not unique in that respect. The RDP client has come a long way recently but still has a way to go until it properly supports the scenario as mentioned above. I haven't tried but believe that connecting to newer windows OSes is fine. Displays at the full resolution for the monitor hardware (1920x1080) everything is the correct size but this time the mouse pointers are the expected "normal" size. This can be fixed by auto hiding or removing the task bar from that screen.Ģ) On the normal DPI screen, full screen. One minor issue is that if that screen has a windows toolbar, "full" screen doesn't quite fit and we end up with scrollbars. Displays at the full resolution, but with correct 200% scaling so everything looks as expected. Checking it will produce the same results as with RDP.ġ) On the high DPI screen, full screen. Instead use Remote Desktop Connection Manager (RDCM) 2.7 but with "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" UNCHECKED. Editing any kind of text is unusable because you lose the mouse pointer when hovering over those areas. ![]() What's worse, the vertical I-beam text cursor doesn't appear at all (I suspect because an I-beam bitmap for the cursor set that small doesn't exist). Displays at the full resolution for the monitor hardware (1920x1080) everything is the correct size except the mouse pointer is TINY. Displays at the full resolution, 100% scaling so everything is tiny and it's close to unusable.Ģ) On the normal DPI screen, full screen. Connecting to other machines (in this case Windows Server 2008R2 SP1):ġ) On the high DPI screen, full screen. ![]()
